NWPC-VA is honored to screen Netizens, a documentary about virtual harassment from director Cynthia Lowen, to complement our V-LAW series.  The film depicts the many forms digital abuse can take and challenges the notion cyber harassment is only online, showing the repercussions on targets' lives. Session Four- Connect and Amplify Our Voices

The final V-LAW Session on October 7th at 6:00 pm, will invite Virginia Lawmakers, grassroots organizations  and NWPC-VA members and guests back to the table to identify and name the  Legislative V-LAW CHAMPION. The winning team's legislation will be NWPC-VA’s policy goals for 2022.


Session Three- Bring Us your Voice-Brainstorming Advocacy and Legislation

Thursday, September 30 at 6:00 pm, members and invited guests will be placed in breakout rooms to brainstorm legislation that NWPC-VA will push for during the start of 2022.  Teams will draft legislation addressing Virtual Harassment in Virginia.  Teams will submit their plan by the end of the session to be scored and evaluated for the title of  V-LAW CHAMPION.

Session Two- The History of Legislation in Virginia

On Thursday, September 23, at 6:00 pm, NWPC-VA Members and guests will engage with Virginia lawmakers interested in assisting Virginia women tackle virtual harassment obstacles through the 2022 legislative process. Experts will discuss current and past legislation that has led to the need to focus on this policy issue


Session One- Laying out the Issues

NWPC-VA will host the first V-LAW series highlighting women who have experienced it all.  Participants will hear from survivors and legal experts about the ramifications of how Virginia law did not support the needs of Virginia women.



Activism through the Ages: Women’s Intergenerational Stories

Come celebrate Mentor May with us as we listen to stories of women who have dedicated their lives to social and political activism.  Our panelists from all across the Commonwealth will detail how they began their journey and how they continue to pass on the legacy of activism.

Watch as we hear from Carla Anderson about her personal experience with the criminal justice system and her work to reform the system as it relates to women.
